Photography Preset
Measure brightness, Color Temperature, Exposure Value and calculate
shutter and aperture.
Photographic exposure can be measured in two different ways:
1) Incident light measurement (Ambient mode -
Illuminance in Lux)
2) Subject spot measurement (Emission mode - Luminance in cd/m2)
The appropriate formula for EV calculation is chosen automatically
based on the instrument measurement mode.
- The XYZ Readout Y (middle)
value will be the illuminance in Lux or the reflected
luminance in cd/m2.
- CCT is the standard CIE 1960 UCS closest temperature
to the black body illuminant locus. Alternate measure of
temperature such as using a modern delta E measure, or the
Daylight locus can be selected by modifying the Color Temperature Readout.
- The exposure value EV represents a combination of shutter
speed and aperture setting (f-number), independent of
sensitivity (ISO) setting. The Readout value is an EV adjusted
for an ISO speed of 100.
- The exposure calculator displays the calculated EV (see Exposure Value (EV)) in the form
of an interactive calculator. The ISO sensitivity and exposure
adjustment values can be set, and then the Aperture value traded
off against the shutter speed. Whichever one of Shutter or
Aperture that was not last adjusted will respond to changes in
the other three settings. When a flash measurement is used, the
shutter reading is fixed at a nominal 1 second, since the flash
is faster than the shutter, and its energy is not affected by
shutter speed. Because the shutter speed is fixed, the aperture
can only be changed indirectly, by varying the ISO or EV
Adjustment.
