Design - Compare Preset

Compare two colors, find two matching colors, or check visual
contrast ratio between two colors.
- If using an emissive mode, first measure a white reference
patch and then use the "->White" button to store it in the
white reference register.
- Measure the color to be matched and then use the "-> Ref."
button to store it in the reference register.
- Measure the other colors you are comparing to the reference to
get a visual comparison as well as compute a Delta E number. The
lower the Delta E the closer the colors are, with 1 Delta E
being approximately the threshold of visual detection.
- Contrast ratio can be useful for checking that there is
adequate visual contrast between foreground and background
colors. For readability, ISO and ANSI standards
recommend a minimum contrast ratio of 3:1. The W3
recommends a minimum ratio of 4.5 : 1 to allow for viewers with
less than perfect visual acuity, unless the text is large, in
which case it can be relaxed to 3 : 1.
